Working out the kinks

For the past few weeks I have been consumed by a new project. I am combining architectural elements, nature and technology to create an installation that is time sensitive, potentially interactive and has intervention like applications.

I am creating pillars that have the potential to transform themselves into a banyan tree, an underground network of canals and a myriad selection of other things. For the past week I have been working on the forest. I have focused on testing out materials, transferability of images on them and lighting structures.  My studio has a limited amount of space and storage. I need to create approximately 9 life size pillars (60cm diameter and 3,5m high) that can successfully be dismantled and reassembled without too much hassle and time.
While waiting for the paint and other substances to dry i took some oddball images of a horse and a banana and drank some coffee :D

video, gif or animation

I quite like playing with the difference between videos and gifs and animation. Where are the boundries?

creating gifs

I've been thinking a lot about gif's lately and decided to try my hand at making a few. I decided to go with animated gifs made from stopframe animations and short videos from 2013. Here are some of the results. To create the gifs I used the free web based GiF maker  http://makeagif.com

Next, I want to try my hand at creating a network of gifs that form a collective image. And start making gifs from scratch.
